Lego has announced five additional Star Wars Smart Play sets, expanding its interactive building system. The new releases, ranging from $39.99 to $99.99, will launch on March 1 alongside three previously revealed “All-In-One” sets, more than doubling the available Smart Play lineup.
Demand is already high, with retailers like Best Buy implementing reservation systems due to anticipated shortages. Preorders are live now through Lego’s website, Amazon, Best Buy, and Target.
What is Lego Smart Play?
Lego Smart Play introduces a new dimension to building by integrating a 2×4 “Smart Brick” with embedded sensors. These sensors interact with special Smart Minifigures and Smart Tags, triggering lights and sounds for an enhanced play experience.
Crucially, the new sets do not include the necessary Smart Brick or its charger. To make them fully interactive, consumers must purchase one of the existing “All-In-One” sets, which contain the Smart Brick:
- Lego Star Wars Smart Play: Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter — $69.99
- Lego Star Wars Smart Play: Luke’s Red Five X-Wing — $89.99
- Lego Star Wars Smart Play: Throne Room Duel & A-Wing — $159.99
