Star Wars: Galactic Racer – High-Speed Racing Coming in 2026

A new Star Wars racing game, Galactic Racer, is set to release in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Unlike the Jedi-focused reveals at The Game Awards, this title focuses on fast-paced, high-stakes racing in the Star Wars universe.

Post-Empire Racing League

The game takes place after the fall of the Empire, when the galaxy is in a rebuilding phase. A new racing league, the Galactic League, has emerged in the Outer Rim territories. Players will compete in underground races for fame and fortune, where survival is key.

Run-Based Gameplay and Vehicle Variety

Developed by Fuse Games – a studio founded in 2023 by veterans of the Burnout and Need for Speed franchises – Galactic Racer features a run-based system. This means that crashes mean immediate race failure, adding pressure to every lap.

The game will include a range of iconic Star Wars vehicles:
– Landspeeders
– Skim speeders
– Speederbikes

Each vehicle type offers unique handling characteristics, with customization options to tailor the experience to the player’s preferred racing style. Upgrading your ride through wins unlocks access to more races across various planets.

High-Stakes Competition

According to Fuse Games co-founder Matt Webster, Galactic Racer will deliver “high-stakes competitions where racers do everything they can to get to the front.” The game features both a solo campaign and multiplayer modes, emphasizing survival and aggressive racing.

Galactic Racer offers a gritty, adrenaline-fueled take on the Star Wars universe, shifting focus from galactic conflicts to the cutthroat world of underground racing.
